Brian Schwartz designed a new singlet and he’s making it available at cost through the singlet company. The singlet is available to ALL wrestlers who want to order one — knee-hi through high school.

the price drops to $70.

wrestler’s weight.
IMPORTANT: We need to know by Wednesday, January 25 not later than 8 p.m. so the order can be placed and we’ll have the singlets for the King of the Ridge Tournament.

Sunday, January 29 2012 — VEWL Quad Meet @ Jim Thorpe. We will need volunteers for concession stand and other duties to make this a successful match. We will wrestle two teams.
Sunday, Feb. 26 2012 – King of the Ridge Youth Wrestling Tournament, Northern Lehigh. Forms will be distributed at practices. This is a JV/Varsity Tournament only.

The popular Takedown Club 80′s dance is Saturday, January 21st and Penn Forest Fire Company #1′s brand-new Whispering Pines banquet/dance hall. Click here for the official flier.
Tickets are $25/each or $40 per couple and includes all you can drink beer, soda and water. There will also be snacks and we are planning a costume party so drag out all that old 80′s garb or buy some old clothes and get dolled up to win!

David Formica
This Tuesday’s Wrestle-Off Night is in honor of David Formica and we will be accepting donations which will go to his memorial scholarship fund. David was a Jim Thorpe wrestler. Let’s make this evening one he’d be proud of!
The Wrestle-Off starts at 7 p.m. and includes high school, junior high and knee-hi wrestlers.

The Jim Thorpe Knee-hi wrestling team recently participated in the Lehighton Wrestling Tournament on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2011. The team had 27 wrestlers who wrestled up to 6 times throughout the day. Many of the wrestlers took home trophies.

Sign-ups for the Jim Thorpe Elementary wrestling program are Oct. 5 and Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the High School.

All students interested in learning about wrestling or improving their skills are welcome to the open Wrestling Room after school until 4:30-5:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays. The room is open to all individuals interested in the sport. The junior high and high school wrestlers will also be lifting on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school.
The knee-hi wrestling program celebrated the end of their season with a banquet last night, March 30, 2011, at the Jim Thorpe Area High School. In attendance were the coaches, parents, varsity high school coach Shawn Albert, and guest speaker, Varsity Wresler Brian Ohl.
